Daily flights from DAR ES SALAAM and ARUSHA

Tanga is serviced by Coastal Air, with two scheduled flights daily from Dar es Salaam. Earlier flights originating in Dar to Tanga and Arusha, via Zanzibar, return mid day along the same route. A second afternoon schedule reaches Tanga late afternoon, via Zanzibar and Pemba, and returns on the same route reaching Dar late afternoon. Both Arusha and Dar es Salaam have international flight and airline connections, via Kilimanjaro (Arusha) and Julius Nyerere (Dar) International airports. Moi International Airport, Mombasa, is another option with a 3hr vehicle transfer into Tanzania and Fish Eagle Point.

How to get here by road....

How to get here by road - From Arusha or Dar by road to Tanga (paved road - 4.5 hrs from Dar and 5.5hrs from Arusha). From Tanga, take Horohoro (Mombasa-Kenya) border road , for 38km, turn right and follow signs to FEP, 10km away. The road from Tanga is presently being upgraded to paved status - an occasion we have been expecting/praying for, for decades!! Buses ply all routes from all major centers including Mombasa. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT FUEL FOR YOUR RETURN TO TANGA.

Transfers from Tanga or upcountry...

Dhow or vehicular transfers from Tanga can be arranged. The dhow trip is truly memorable, beautiful and tranquil 2-3 hour sail (or motor if the wind doesn't participate!) We are able to arrange road transfers from either Dar or Arusha should you require, please advise in good time to make arrangements.

By bus...

There are bus services from all centers in the region... so connecting here by bus is easy and very cheap, but timely. Dar, Arusha and Mombasa are the major centers from where you can get to us most easily. Use the bigger buses which are mostly direct and hardly stop to load and unload passengers at every village! The buses from within Tanzania are generally bound for Tanga, from where we can arrange transfers, or if you prefer - jump onto a smaller bus heading for Hororhoro border post (to Mombasa), where you can be dropped off at our turn off (38km from Tanga) and we will collect you at no charge. Daily buses to Tanga from Mombasa are numerous, and again will drop you at our turnoff (25km into Tanzania from border post), where we will collect you. These pickups must obviously be prearranged.

Our mission is to be eco-friendly, therefore we ask that nothing natural be removed from the surrounds, including shells and plants. Care too should be taken on the delicate reefs, please take care of them for us all!
